Hosting
When setting up a web site for a business or organization, you should
register a
domain name. This and advertises your business, rather than your host's
domain
and makes your web site portable (in case you need or want to move it to
a
different provider). Businesses usually register a ".com" name and most
non-profit
organizations register a ".org" name.
Inwave Internet uses networksolutions.com to register domain names. They
charge
$70.00 to register a name for 2 years. If you register it yourself, it
will be
your responsibility to give the registration service the correct
information and
to make any needed changes.
We charge a $50.00 one-time fee to configure our DNS, web, and mail
server
to handle your business domain webpage requests and to process your
e-mail.
There are several things we would need to know about your webpage to
determine
how to set it up on our server.
If you just have an informational site (nothing involving SSL - secure
socket layers,
or encrypted information transactions such as asking for credit card
numbers)
the monthly storage fee is $19.95/month or $215.00/year and you can have
up to
10 megabytes of data in your files. Extra storage space above the 10
megabytes
is available at $2.00/month for each additional 10 megabytes. Inwave has
several
NT and Linux-based web servers. If you will be using Microsoft Frontpage
server
extensions, we have to put your domain on a Frontpage server.
We can set up e-commerce sites, however it does take some specialized
software
and server work, so we would have to meet with you and discuss your
needs and
then give you a quote. E-commerce sites take a lot of setup work and
usually
cost several thousand dollars to implement with full security and
creating the
ability for you to go online and modify your catalog directly from a
secure
web page. Monthly hosting for e-commerce sites start at $50.00/month.
With any type of domain account, you get your main e-mail box and up to
3
additional specific e-mail boxes or aliases. For example mybusiness.com
would have a main mailbox that received everything sent to
@mybusiness.com. You
could also have up to 3 separate accounts that just gathered e-mail sent
to
info@mybusiness.com, or daboss@mybusiness.com, etc., as part of the base
domain hosting price.
Dial-up access is not included in the prices.
